Hoops Capital is pleased to announce the return of the Future Flames program for 2026, continuing its partnership with Harvey Norman to support the next generation of female basketball talent in New South Wales.
Now entering its third year, the Future Flames program was launched in 2024 to strengthen the pathway between emerging athletes and the Sydney Flames environment, providing aspiring players with access to elite-level development and mentorship.
The 2026 program will expand its offering with the introduction of a dedicated mentorship program connecting participants with Sydney Flames players, alongside enhanced strength and conditioning support and athlete wellbeing education. Participants will also hear from guest speakers across sport and industry, with a focus on personal growth and professionalism, as well as integrity both on and off the court.
Up to 24 athletes aged 18–24 will be selected for the program, aligning with eligibility requirements for development player positions for the WNBL27 season.
Trials will be held at Hoops Capital East in Moore Park on June 18 and 25, with successful athletes selected shortly after. Participants will then undertake an eight-week development program running throughout July and August 2026, with weekly Thursday sessions.
