Bourne is one of the most exciting young talents in the league, most recently with the Southside Flyers where she played a key role in taking the team to the playoffs in WNBL ‘26 while delivering 16 points per game, placing her in the top ten for scoring last season.
Bourne was part of the Opals squad that claimed gold at the 2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup and has also represented Australia in the 3x3 format in recent years.
Following WNBL ’26, Bourne joined Gernika in the Spanish league to further her international experience and continue to grow her game.
While her versatility, athleticism and determination has seen her grow in each of her three WNBL seasons across Adelaide and Southside, it is her hunger for improvement that has Flames Head Coach Renae Garlepp excited.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Issie to the Flames,” Garlepp said. “She’s a terrific athlete and one of the leading forwards in the league but still has so much upside. She brings versatility and a real desire to keep improving every day.
“I love her energy, athleticism and a strong presence, and we’re excited to have her in a Flames jersey.”
Bourne said the opportunity to join Sydney’s new-look program was one she was eager to embrace.
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Sydney Flames this season,” Bourne said.
“I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to play under Renae and her staff and think this is the right environment for me to continue to grow as a player.”
“The culture and style of play make this an exciting brand of basketball to be a part of, the Flames have put together a really amazing group of players and I can’t wait to get after it!”
Bourne represents another strong step forward as the Flames continue building for the season ahead.
