The dynamic playmaker, who causes havoc in defense and has carved herself out as an integral NCAA player, will bring this talent and enthusiasm to the Flames under head coach Renae Garlepp.

“I’m so excited for this new chapter in my basketball career and can’t wait to get to work with Renae in Sydney,” says Charlise on returning. “After four years of college in the US, I’m so grateful for this opportunity to come back home and I can’t wait to get to work.”

The Australian native has represented her nation at the youth level since 2018 where she helped the U15 Australian Sapphires in the Oceania Qualifiers win Gold, and where she was named MVP of the tournament. Charlise has also represented Australia at the U17 Oceania Qualifiers and won a Silver medal at the 2019 with the U19 Australian Gems.

Following this impressive pathway, she began her college career at Virginia Tech before entering the transfer portal and forging a career with the Wildcats. In this full circle move, her career will now return home as she enters the WNBL as a Flame on a two-year deal.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Charlise to the Flames,” says Renae. “She’s a terrific young talent with real toughness, versatility and a strong work ethic. She has enormous potential, and we’re excited to help her continue to grow in a Flames jersey.”

To add to her already impressive year, Charlise has been selected 36th in the WNBA draft by expansion team Toronto Tempo. We can't wait to support her through her journey with the Toronto Tempo before she begins her season with the Flames.
